Job Summary:
The Vice President of Management Information Systems (MIS) will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee activities in the Information Systems department, ensuring the development and implementation of efficient computer operations and cost-effective systems to meet current and future needs of the organization.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains management-level MIS staff.
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Establishes and implements the strategic direction of the organizations MIS division.
- Collaborates with the organizations executive leadership to develop and meet company goals while supplying expertise and guidance on information processing and systems.
- Identifies, recommends, and implements new information technologies and systems to improve company processes and decision-making.
- Ensures that departmental decisions such as staffing, development, organization, hardware acquisitions, and facilities are in line with the companys business plan and vision.
- Establishes, communicates, and implements MIS policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent information processing operations; acts as the primary safeguard for information resources.
- Establishes and administers the departments budget.
- Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in information systems hardware, software, applications, and best practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:

- Thorough and extremely comprehensive knowledge of information technology and systems.

- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn the applications, hardware, and software used in the organization.
Education and Experience:
- Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Business Administration required.
- At least ten years of management experience in information systems, information technology, or a related field.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
