Data Processing Manager




Job Summary:

The Data Processing Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the companys data processing center.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Hires and trains data processing employees.
  • Organizes and oversees the schedules of data processing employees.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Supplies an efficient data processing operation by monitoring and maintaining efficiency of the organizations systems in accordance with evolving company needs and technological improvements.
  • Leads data processing operations and develops systems that meet the needs of a variety of financial, marketing, production, and human resource processes.
  • Collaborates with Controller and department heads to analyze existing systems, ensuring that current needs are met, while planning for necessary future modifications and improvements.
  • Maintains current knowledge of developments in management information to offer new solutions as problems and needs arise.
  • Develops and implements operating budget for the department.
  • Prepares reports for Chief Operating Office or other executives regarding the effectiveness of computer operations and anticipated future capital expenditures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills and attention to detail.
  • Thorough understanding of computer systems.
  • Ability to explain technical information in understandable language to nontechnical employees.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in computer-related field required; Masters degree desired.
  • At least seven years of related computer experience, with at least three in management role.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
