Reshma Saujani, Founder and CEO, Moms First; Founder, Girls Who Code Announced as SHRM AI+HI Project Main Stage Speaker
ALEXANDRIA, Va – SHRM, the trusted authority on all things work, today is delighted to announce Reshma Saujani as a Main Stage speaker for The AI+HI Project. Saujani is a leading activist and founder and CEO of Moms First. She is also the founder and former CEO of Girls Who Code. She has spent more than a decade building movements to fight for women’s and girls’ economic empowerment, working to close the gender gap in the tech sector, and most recently advocating policies to support moms impacted by the pandemic.
The AI+HI Project serves as a platform for leading thought leaders, industry experts, and visionaries to share their insights on the intersection of artificial intelligence and human intelligence. The event will be held in Mountain View, CA at Microsoft’s Silicon Valley Campus from March 4 – 6, 2024.
“If anyone understands the tremendous impact technology can have on equity – and how to take that first step, it’s Reshma Saujani,” said Alex Alonso, Chief Knowledge Officer, SHRM. “She saw generative AI as a massive breakthrough and is taking the steps to create fundamental change. Her expertise is a welcomed force at The AI+HI Project.”
In her nine-year tenure as the CEO of Girls Who Code, Saujani grew the organization to one of the largest and most prestigious non-profits in the country. Today, Girls Who Code has taught 400,000 girls through direct in-person computer science education programming and reached 500 million people worldwide through its New York Times-bestselling book series and award-winning campaigns.
In response to the disproportionate impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on America’s moms, Reshma launched the Marshall Plan for Moms to advocate for policies that value women’s labor in and out of the home. In 2023, Marshall Plan for Moms became Moms First, a reflection of the progress made in the last two years and a rallying cry to expand the movement we’re building together. In December 2023, Moms First debuted paidleave.ai, a first of its kind tool to help families understand what paid leave they qualify for, and how to get it.
