Delivering Impact for Workers and Workplaces in 2025
In 2025, SHRM advanced a comprehensive workplace policy agenda focused on strengthening workforce participation, modernizing employment systems, and elevating HR expertise in policymaking.
Throughout the year, SHRM engaged federal and state policymakers with data-driven, practical insights on workforce challenges, including education to employment pathways, workforce development, caregiving and benefits, and the responsible use of emerging technologies. SHRM also launched its first HR Policy Boot Camp on Capitol Hill, providing congressional staff with real-world HR perspectives to inform legislative decision-making.
At the state level, SHRM supported and advanced key policy outcomes while expanding grassroots engagement through its national advocacy network. Globally, SHRM strengthened its presence in international policy forums and strategic partnerships focused on the future of work and workforce readiness.
Together, these efforts reflect SHRM’s role as a trusted, nonpartisan voice shaping policies that affect work, workers, and workplaces.
