SHRM and SHRM California Monitor Key Legislation
States continue to drive workplace policy innovation, with California often leading the way. The state Legislature recently adjourned after advancing several measures affecting employers and employees. SHRM and SHRM California engaged on these bills, many of which now await action by Gov. Gavin Newsom. He has already signed Senate Bill 638, enhancing career and technical education grant eligibility through stronger business-labor collaboration and expanded access for underserved populations. SHRM is also closely monitoring several other bills and will provide an update as appropriate.
