SHRM Government Affairs Team Earns National Honors
Emily M. Dickens, J.D., SHRM chief of staff and head of government affairs, has been recognized by the National Institute for Lobbying and Ethics as a 2025 Top Lobbyist. This honor celebrates professionals who demonstrate exceptional leadership, integrity, and impact in advancing effective and ethical advocacy.
Under Dickens’ leadership, SHRM has strengthened its position as a trusted, nonpartisan voice on the future of work. She has guided SHRM’s efforts to modernize workplace policy and elevate HR’s influence on key issues including artificial intelligence, workforce readiness, and education-to-employment pathways. Her work continues to reinforce SHRM’s mission of improving both work and the lives of workers around the world through policy, not politics.
Meanwhile, Sean McIntosh, SHRM senior advisor for member advocacy and government affairs operations, was named one of The Advocacy Association’s Top 20 in 2025 Advocacy Professionals. This distinction highlights leaders who are driving innovation and measurable impact across the advocacy profession.
