SHRM New York State Hosts its Third Annual Advocacy Day
SHRM New York State Council hosted its third annual New York State Advocacy Day on Tuesday, Feb. 24, bringing HR professionals together for a dynamic half-day of education, engagement, and influence. Due to inclement weather, SHRM NYS had to pivot to virtual meetings. However, the day was a success, with SHRM members meeting with key lawmakers and staff to advocate for key workplace policies, including artificial intelligence in the workplace, strengthening the education-to-employment pipeline, and expanding access to employment for untapped talent pools, impacting employers and employees across the state. Jim Link, SHRM-SCP, Chief Human Resources Officer for SHRM, greeted the attendees and thanked them for their time and commitment to advocating for the HR profession. If you would like to get more involved with advocacy, please fill out this brief survey so we can match your interests and comfort level with future opportunities.
