For the past five years, SHRM’s August In-District Advocacy Campaign has provided a dedicated moment for HR professionals to meet with their lawmakers and elevate the voice of the HR community. These efforts have been impactful and have strengthened SHRM’s presence across congressional districts nationwide.
As the workplace and policymaking landscapes continue to evolve, it is essential that our advocacy efforts evolve with them. That is why SHRM Government Affairs is transitioning from a single-month campaign to a more agile, year-round model of in-district advocacy.
Year-round engagement offers HR professionals greater flexibility to connect with lawmakers when it matters most—whether during district work periods, committee recesses, or key moments in the legislative calendar. This approach enables SHRM Members to respond to emerging policy issues, share real-time workforce insights, and build stronger, more consistent relationships with policymakers.
