In partnership with the Employers Against Domestic Abuse Alliance (The Alliance) and in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, this webinar will help HR professionals close two critical gaps: recognizing domestic violence as a workplace issue and preparing for when it reaches, or threatens to reach, the workplace. The conversation will explore how domestic violence can surface through absenteeism, disengagement, performance challenges, and the need for greater flexibility, while equipping HR to have compassionate conversations that connect employees with support.
It will also address practical workplace preparedness — from protective orders and safety protocols to coordination with security and front-of-house staff — with a compliance throughline encompassing leave, accommodations, discrimination, retaliation, and workplace safety. The goal is not to make HR professionals counselors or domestic violence experts, but to help them respond compassionately, understand their obligations, and have the right protocols in place before a crisis occurs.
