    Susan Stowell, VP, Leave and Absence Strategy

    Susan Stowell joined Unum in 2014 as the Assistant Vice President, Healthcare Segment Leader. In 2019, she was promoted to Vice President of Solutions Product Strategy, where she drives the strategic vision for new enhancements to Unum’s leave and absence portfolio and leads the go-to-market efforts. Before joining Unum, she was a senior healthcare executive at Stroudwater Associates, where she led the Physician-Hospital Alignment Practice and worked closely with hospital executives and their Board of Directors to provide strategic, operational and financial consulting services. Susan is a graduate of Princeton University and earned her MBA at the Simon Business School at the University of Rochester.

    Marcy Ledford, MS, CRC, CEAS, Director, Health and Productivity

    Marcy has been providing return to work and absence management services for 20+ years.  She received her master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling at the University of Tennessee Knoxville.  In her role as Health and Productivity Director at Unum she provides data to large clients and uses the data to help identify absence challenges as well as opportunities for improvement.  She specifically offers insights, solutions and best practices related to absence management.  She frequently authors articles and presents on topics related to workforce trends and return to work.

    Michelle Jackson, AVP, Leave and Absence

    Michelle has over 25 years of experience helping employers navigate complex workforce challenges. With a background in clinical social work, she began her career at Unum as a clinical reviewer and has held a variety of roles focused on return-to-work strategies, absence management, and client engagement. She now leads market development efforts for Unum’s Leave & Absence practice, responsible for quoting, migration and market development for Unum’s best in class Total Leave administrative service.
