As recruiting challenges continue to reshape the workforce landscape in 2025, spanning various types of jobs, employers are maintaining health care benefits as their top strategic benefits offering. With costs for medical expenses continuing to increase, prioritizing robust health care coverage will remain essential for organizations aiming to secure talent and sustain employee loyalty throughout the year and into the future.

While health insurance in general remains an exceptionally common benefit for employers to provide, expanding their specific offerings has become an increased priority. With the introduction of GLP-1 drugs in the marketplace, employers are scrambling to determine if and how they should incorporate these highly sought-after medications into their coverage options. A consequence of providing additional coverage in one area, however, is the potential for decreased coverage elsewhere. As an example, numerous wellness and lifestyle benefits have seen decreases across the board in 2025.
