Employers are increasingly leaning on financial benefits a way to address employees' rising finanical stress. Nearly three quarters of U.S. workers reported experiencing stress related to their financial security, according to research from SHRM and Raymond James, and even among those with highly developed financial wellness, 32% indicated financial concerns affected their ability to focus or engage at work. Over half of HR professionals, 57%, said their organizations' finanical wellness initiatives were underdeveloped.
However, the research also demonstrates that organizations with highly developed programs were substantially more likely to exceed both financial and nonfinancial objectives, and far less likely to report high turnover.
