Fraud Examiner Investigator and Analyst

Job Summary:

The Fraud Examiner, Investigator, and Analyst will assist in the resolution of fraud allegations by gathering evidence, recording statements, writing and producing reports, and testifying on findings.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.


  • Conducts in-depth investigations of evidence and/or allegations of suspicious activity such as fraud or money laundering.
  • Acquires documentation or permission required to authorize investigatory activities; adheres to the scope and parameters set forth therein.
  • Interviews and records statements of witnesses and suspects.
  • Documents all investigative activities and prepares written reports of findings.
  • Collaborates and coordinates with law enforcement officers and attorneys concerning investigative efforts.
  • Prepares court evidence for presentation; testifies in court concerning the findings of investigations as required.
  • Maintains records, databases, logs, and other needed documentation related to fraudulent activity.
  • May coordinate fraud detection and prevention activities and training, providing advice on methods and best practices.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of laws related to fraud.
  • Basic understanding of human behavior and performance.
  • Working knowledge of equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies needed to support security and investigative operations.
  • Ability to identify discrepancies and problems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software program.
  • Ability to use Guardian Analytics FraudMAP, Tableau, Splunk Enterprise, or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) credential preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to travel and access various locations in the course of investigations.
