Job Summary:
The Financial Services Sales Agent will guide clients through the process of purchasing financial services such as stocks, loans, or securities.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Consults with clients to understand their financial goals, timelines, and acceptable risk levels.
- Recommends and prepares proposals outlining various financial services and products to meet clients needs and goals.
- Monitors markets and economies, evaluating how changes may affect clients.
- Monitors costs and revenue to determine ongoing profitability of products and services; makes recommendations and modifications.
- Identifies and analyzes security risks.
- Accepts payments for services and prepares agreements, forms, or paperwork.
- Adheres to federal, state, local, and company laws, regulations, and policies.
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with clients and community.
- Conducts presentations and educational outreach efforts, informing the public of financial services with a goal of attracting new clients and leads.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial principles.
- Excellent sales and customer service skills.
- Thorough understanding of financial services and how markets and economies affect those services.
- Thorough understanding of procedures and policies related to taxes, accounting, and economics to review and analyze clients data and make prudent recommendations.
- Math skills to calculate risks, returns, and tax liability.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field required; MBA preferred for advancement.
- At least one year of related experience required.
- Successful completion of on-the-job training required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
