Miss America Air Force Lieutenant Madison Marsh Joins Trailblazing Navy Admiral to Inspire at INCLUSION 2024
Madison Marsh made history by becoming the first active-duty officer to hold a Miss America state title, crowned Miss Colorado in 2023 after earning a degree in physics from the Air Force Academy.
ALEXANDRIA, Va. – SHRM, the trusted authority on all things work, proudly announces Madison Marsh, 2nd Lieutenant in the Air Force and 2024 Miss America, will take the main stage at INCLUSION 2024 this November in the Denver, Colorado metro area and virtually. Marsh will join Admiral Michelle J. Howard (Retired), the first female U.S. Navy Four-Star Admiral to illuminate the transformative power of representation through their captivating stories and firsthand experiences.
Madison Marsh made history by becoming the first active-duty officer to hold a Miss America state title, crowned Miss Colorado in 2023 after earning a degree in physics from the Air Force Academy. A trailblazer in her own right and a Colorado native, Marsh is a certified private pilot, a black belt in taekwondo, a National Truman Scholar, and a National Astronaut Scholar.
She has also studied public policy at Harvard Kennedy School and is currently a graduate intern at Harvard Medical School, collaborating with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute on groundbreaking early cancer detection research. This passion stems from her personal mission to honor her mother, who passed away from pancreatic cancer, through her work as founder and CEO of the Whitney Marsh Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to raising funds for cancer research.
During the Opening General Session program on Tuesday, Nov. 5, Marsh will reflect on her remarkable journey in the U.S. Air Force and her impactful work in cancer research. She will share the stage with Admiral Michelle J. Howard (retired) who became the Navy’s first female Four-Star Admiral and the first woman to serve as Vice Chief of Naval Operations. Marsh’s discussion will focus on breaking barriers, leading with purpose, and inclusive leadership skills to support diverse voices.
INCLUSION 2024 will take place Nov. 4-7, 2024, at the Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center in Aurora, CO. Those unable to attend in person will have the option to attend virtually.
