Former President Joe Biden Addresses SHRM25
In one of his first major appearances since leaving office, President Joe Biden, the 46th president of the U.S., addressed the more than 20,000 attendees of SHRM25 on July 2. In his remarks, Biden discussed leadership, workforce transformation, caregiving, and the future of work.
At age 29, Biden became one of the youngest Americans ever elected to the U.S. Senate, representing Delaware and playing a leading role in addressing some of our nation’s most important domestic and international challenges. Among his signature achievements is writing the Violence Against Women Act. Biden represented Delaware in the Senate for 36 years before becoming the 47th vice president and then the 46th president of the U.S.
As vice president, Biden worked alongside President Barack Obama to secure passage of the Affordable Care Act and oversee the then-largest economic recovery plan in history. After being sworn in as the 46th president in 2021, Biden signed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Inflation Reduction Act into law.
Former Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush were Main Stage speakers at SHRM Annual Conferences in 2023 and 2022, respectively.
