The President Nominates Key Members to his Administration
Recently, the president announced another round of nominations for key positions in his administration, including Crystal Carey as general counsel of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). Carey, currently a partner at Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP, joined the firm in 2018 after serving as an NLRB attorney for eight years. If confirmed, Carey will oversee the investigation and prosecution of unfair labor practice cases and supervise NLRB field offices in case processing.
Additionally, the president nominated Andrew Rogers and Jonathan Berry to key roles at the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL). The president nominated Rogers, currently acting general counsel for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, as administrator of the Wage and Hour Division. If confirmed, Rogers will lead the agency responsible for enforcing federal wage and hour laws, including the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and other worker protections.
Berry, nominated as solicitor of labor, would serve as the DOL’s chief legal officer, overseeing legal services across the department. He is currently a managing partner at Boyden Gray & Associates PLLC and previously served as acting assistant secretary for policy at the DOL during the first Trump administration.
