Job Summary:
The Parking Garage Shift Supervisor will coordinate and oversee the scheduling and work of shift employees in the parking facility.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Provides training and instruction to parking garage attendants.
- Organizes and oversees the work and schedules of parking garage attendants and security staff; ensures their work is completed correctly and in a timely manner.
- Assists garage manager with disciplinary and termination steps.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Facilitates smooth and efficient operation of the assigned parking garage, lot, or facility.
- Visually inspects all areas of the garage for safety and maintenance concerns.
- Ensures that ticketing machines are loaded and operational.
- Handles cash on hand, tallying, recording, distributing, and balancing cash receipts at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Delegates maintenance and cleaning responsibilities to shift workers; tasks may include cleaning, trash management, snow/ice removal, troubleshooting, and basic repairs of equipment.
- Contacts police, fire, or other emergency personnel when accidents or other emergencies arise.
- Courteously handles customer inquiries, complaints, and problems.
- Prepares daily reports and logs, documenting shift operations and any problems or complaints.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic math skills, as required to balance cash receipts.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to prepare logs and reports.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing and walking throughout garage.
- Must be able to visually inspect garage and physically access all areas in all types of weather.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
