Job Summary:
The Credit Card Application Clerk will collect, record, and verify credit card application data, facilitating the issuance or denial of requested credit.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Collects, records, and verifies information supplied by applicants; rejects and returns incomplete or illegible applications.
- Verifies applicant credit ratings with appropriate credit reporting agency or agencies.
- Using standard formula ratings, authorizes issuance of credit to applicants who meet established criteria and guidelines.
- Initiates issuance of cards and mailing of credit card contract information.
- Issues rejection letters to applicants who do not satisfy necessary criteria.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Ability to focus on details and accuracy in information processing.
- Ability to use keyboard skills to quickly and accurately enter data.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least one year of experience in an office environment preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
