Job Summary:
The Group Home Director will manage the operation of a group residence for psychiatrically disabled consumers.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Develops and monitors staff for professional 24-hour coverage.
- Develops volunteer support for professional staff.
- Supervises food service and physical maintenance of facility.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Screens prospective residents to ensure the group residence can provide the appropriate care for their needs. Ensures that residents receive quality professional care.
- Supervises preparation of regular medical reports on all residents.
- Schedules daily activities for residents.
- Monitors operation costs to stay within budget.
- Works with the residential nurse to develop and maintain residents' treatment plans and monitor medications.
- Maintains active involvement in professional and lay mental health organizations in the community.
Required Skills/Abilities:

- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychiatric nursing, psychology, or related field required. Masters degree preferred.
- Appropriate work-related experience may be substituted for some of the educational background.
- At least two years of experience in a residential facility preferred.
- Must have valid driver's license and an insured auto.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
