Job Summary:
The Search Engine Marketing Manager will direct and lead marketing staff in developing and implementing effective search engine marketing campaigns and strategies.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Hires and trains search engine marketing (SEM) staff.
- Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of SEM staff.
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develops, implements, and modifies a unified digital marketing strategy based on search engine research, monitoring, optimization, analysis, and reporting conducted by the SEM team; drafts and distributes related documentation and materials.
- Identifies and sets appropriate key performance indicators (KPIs), project milestones, and other metrics, goals, and targets.
- Maintains the quantity and quality of content on the company website; maintains and updates keywords that lead to site.
- Oversees campaigns related to paid searches; generates ranking reports and performs site audits.
- Reviews, monitors, and reports on the overall performance of paid search efforts.
- Monitors, manages, and executes budget for search engine marketing.
- Maintains current knowledge of best practices and developments in digital marketing.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Thorough understanding of SEM optimization techniques and campaign monitoring.
- Thorough understanding of keyword research techniques and algorithms.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with HTML, JavaScript, and other markup languages used by the organization.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, Computer Science, Search Engine Marketing, or related field required.
- At least two years of search engine development experience required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
