The Energy Broker will purchase and sell energy products for utility companies, residential customers, or commercial customers.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Buys and sells energy products for individual customers or utility companies.
- Negotiates contracts for energy transactions.
- Forecasts future energy needs to lower costs and maximize availability.
- Develops energy product packages for customers.
- Determines the best utility rates for customers.
- Builds and maintains relationships with clients.
- Reviews contracts with clients.
- Consults with clients on ways to lower energy costs.
- Examines bids from energy providers and determines which serve clients the best.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Extensive knowledge of energy products.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage the energy needs of customers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or related field required.
- One to three years of related experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
