Job Summary:
The Energy Management Engineer will lead and oversee energy conservation efforts including long-range plans for energy systems and renewable energy sources.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Analyzes and monitors energy consumption.
- Evaluates current conservation measures as well as energy use and costs through energy audits.
- Determines potential energy savings and energy use by inspecting and monitoring energy systems such as ventilation or air conditioning.
- Collects data for energy conservation analyses through submetering, field inspections, and/or jobsite observations.
- Executes energy modeling, verification, measurement, commissioning, or retro-commissioning.
- Analyzes construction design information, such as system layouts and specifications.
- Recommends ideas for more energy-efficient operations and other savings opportunities.
- Manages projects in accordance with approved budgets, timelines, and specifications
- Complies with federal, state, and local laws throughout all phases of a project.
- Supervises design and construction aspects of a project related to energy.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prepare reports, manage data, and analyze engineering proposals.
- Ability to prepare and monitor project and departmental costs and expenditures.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and managerial abilities.
- Excellent computer skills.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Energy Management, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- At least five years of experience in energy management field.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to traverse all areas of construction sites.
- Must be able to travel to various locations.
- Must be able to visually inspect construction sites, systems, and projects.
