Job Summary:
The Gaming Cage Worker conducts financial transactions for patrons, which may include exchange of real currency for playing tokens or chips and/or establishing house credit accounts based on application and verification.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Sells tokens, tickets, and gambling chips to patrons or to other workers for resale to customers.
- Processes credit card advances and cashes checks for customers.
- Exchanges playing chips, coupons, tokens, and gaming checks for currency.
- Counts money and other funds; reconciles summaries of daily transactions to balance books.
- Maintains security of the cage area.
- Preserves confidentiality of customers transactions.
- Orders currency, coins, and chips as needed to meet the cash requirements for each assigned window.
- Complies with all applicable gaming regulations.
- Rotates coin, cash, and chip inventories as required by regulation.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to perform basic mathematics.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to act with discretion and trustworthiness.
- Ability to be careful, orderly, and detail-oriented.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Related experience preferred.
- Possession of state casino control board or commission license required.
- Background check required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must meet state-established minimum age requirement.
