Job Summary:
The Junior Pension Administrator will collaborate with the pension administrative team to provide administrative, accounting, and counseling services for assigned pension programs.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Following established schedules, provides pension maintenance and accounting services to plan participants; services may include data reconciliation, benefit statements.
- Conducts or assists with nondiscrimination testing to determine compliance with the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA).
- Prepares or assists senior pension administrator in preparing Form 5500.
- Provides clients and plan participants information regarding plan design and benefit distributions.
- Maintains current knowledge of pension regulation and compliance issues, changes, and developments by attending and participating in continuing education and training sessions.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Basic understanding of ERISA-qualified retirement plans.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Detail-oriented.
- Ability to work under pressure and to meet fixed deadlines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- At least one year of experience in pension administration required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
