Job Summary:
The Multimodal Transportation Manager will oversee and coordinate transportation services between the distribution center and other areas of the facility.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Directs and oversees the in-house truck fleet through assigned supervisors and dispatchers.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensures the efficient running of the organizations logistical operations.
- Coordinates transportation services including via truck, train, air, and sea, to provide efficient and timely transportation of goods and freight among facilities and to customers.
- Determines when to use the in-house truck fleet and/or outside freight companies.
- Oversees rail and harbor freight operations used to process container and other bulk shipments.
- Builds and maintains relationships with outside carriers and freight companies.
- Completes fulfillment shipments using cost-effective service providers such as less-than-truckload carriers and air-forwarders.
- Reviews financial reports, identifying and recommending ways to reduce transportation costs.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or related field required.
- Three to five years of experience in transportation industry required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
