The following organizations can be useful resources on the subject of career coaching for HR professionals:

  • The Worldwide Association of Business Coaches. This Canadian-based organization for the business coaching industry was begun in 1997 as the National Association of Business Coaches. It became the Worldwide Association of Business Coaches in 2002 and serves and develops the U.S., Canadian and overseas business coaching markets.

  • The International Coach Federation. Based in Lexington, Ky., this nonprofit federation is described as the largest worldwide resource for business and personal coaches, and as a source for those who are seeking a coach.

  • The College of Executive Coaching. This institution provides personal and executive coach training, coaching services and leadership development programs to professionals.

  • The National Career Development Association. A division of the American Counseling Association, the National Career Development Association, as stated on its web site, provides services to the public and to professionals "involved with or interested in career development, including professional development activities, publications, research, public information, professional standards, advocacy, and recognition for achievement and service.

  • The Center for Creative Leadership. This nonprofit institution focuses exclusively on leadership. It integrates research with training, coaching, assessment and publishing for leaders and organizations.
